Salisbury Steak

I love a slow cooker meal. They usually take about 15 minutes to prep, and you’re done until time to eat. This recipe is a favorite for this reason, plus it’s just yummy comfort food.

I usually serve this with mashed potatoes and mixed veggies on the side. The boys love it because it’s like a giant meatball. And they love meatballs!

Slow Cooker Salisbury Steak

2 pounds ground beef

1 (1 ounce) envelope Onion Soup Mix

1/2 cup Italian style bread crumbs

1/4 cup milk

2 tbsp. Worcheshire Sauce

1/4 flour

3 tbsp. olive oil

2 cans Cream of Chicken Soup

2 envelopes brown gravy mix

3/4 cup water

8 ounces sliced mushrooms

  1. Mix ground beef, onion soup mix, bread crumbs, milk and Worcheshire sauce together and shape 6-8 oval patties.
  2. Heat the olive oil in a heavy pan on medium high heat. Dredge the patties in the flour and add to the pan. Brown on each side, about 3 minutes. Move patties to slow cooker, layering to create a pyramid.
  3. Top patties with sliced mushrooms.
  4. In a separate bowl, mix cream of chicken soup, gravy mix and water together. Pour mixture over the patties and mushrooms and cover. Cook on High for about 4 hours.  Serve with mashed potatoes and vegetables.
