SOS (Or Chipped Beef on Toast)


This is an old family recipe my dad, who was a WWII Navy vet, would make for dinner.
Make a simple white sauce, butter, flour & milk or if you’re fancy you can call it b├ęchamel! Salt & pepper to taste. Add in a few pkgs. of Buddig brand beef, chopped or torn & serve over toast( that’s what my Dad used) or biscuits. I served with a salad because I need something green with it! A glass of wine goes good with anything!


SOS-Chipped Beef on Toast

  • Servings: 4-6

2 tbsp. butter

2 tbsp. flour

1 1/2-2 cups milk

3 packages Buddig Beef, chopped

Toast or Biscuits

  1. Melt the butter in a saucepan. Add flour and stir until combined well.
  2. Add milk and stir until sauce has thickened. Salt and pepper to taste. If sauce is too think, add more milk until the sauce is your preferred thickness.
  3. Add chopped beef. Cook until warmed through.
  4. Serve over toast or biscuits, with salad or vegetables of your choice.
