If your life is as hectic as mine, and nowadays, isn’t everyone’s, you are living with more clutter than you can handle. As hard as I try, things are just disorganized and cluttered. Having two 3 year olds and two dogs doesn’t help with the chaos. So, when I decided to stay home with the boys, I thought I’d have tons of time to get things neat and organized. HA!!! I feel like I have less time than I did before.
In my search for ways to help get us more organized, I ran across the 40 bags in 40 days challenge. The premise is simple: get rid of 40 bags of stuff, whether you donate it, give it to someone, or throw it out. One bag every day, for 40 days. This is also an opportunity to get things organized. Pick an area for each day, a cabinet, closet, shelf. Go through the clutter, and get a bag full of stuff together. It’s OK to spread a big job over a few days, because you’ll end up with more than just one bag.
I found this great post to help plan it out at the White House Black Shutters blog. You can use this link to the printable list I used in the photo above.
I will be starting this week (ignore my dates above). Once a week, I’ll do an update post on what I’ve done, maybe even with before/after photos. Who else is up for the challenge? Let me know in the comments!
