I wanted an antique looking 12×12 scrapbook page frame, but only found contemporary frames. I decided to try to make my own, using a white plain plastic scrapbook frame.
I bought a pc of 7 ft decorative molding, measured it & mitered the corners.
First I painted the white frame a chalk black. Then I painted the moldings white, let them dry, them chalk black. I let everything dry thoroughly, then used Gorilla Wood glue to adhere the moldings to the frame.
I let the glue dry at least 24hrs. I then sanded the front of the frame, to make it distressed & older looking. Wiped it all down & gave it a coat of satin finish urethane, just to seal the paint finish.
